Order made under Section 91(1) of Local Government Act 1972:

Hessay Parish Council (Temporary Appointment of Members) Order

2023

THIS ORDER is made on the …..day of two thousand and

Twenty three by CITY OF YORK COUNCIL (“The Council”)

1. WHEREAS following the publication of Notices of Election for Hessay Parish Council on 27^th March 2023, 17^th May 2023 and 29^th June 2023 only one Parish Councillor was nominated and declared duly elected, three councillors are required for a quorum.

2. Under section 91 of the Local Government Act where there

are so many vacancies in the office of Parish Councillor that

the Parish Council is no longer able to act, City of York Council may, by order, appoint persons to fill all or any of the vacancies until other councillors take office.

NOW in pursuance of the Power conferred upon it by Section 91(1) Local Government Act 1972, the Council hereby appoints the following persons to act as Members of Hessay Parish Council until new Councillors have been co-opted to fill such vacancies as shall constitute and reestablish a quorum on the Parish Council whereupon such appointments and this Order shall cease:

Councillor Anne Hook Rural West York Ward

Councillor Emilie Knight Rural West York Ward
